ORO WOMEN'S MINISTRY HOSTS END OF QUARTER OPEN AIR MEETING
27 June 2022
Women from four fellowships and a church opening in the Oro District gathered last Friday at the Popondetta town center to conduct an open air meeting.
District Officer Captain Flora Pala said the open air meeting was a follow up evangelism ministry to a crusade that was held at Darata village in the Higaturu area in March this year.
She said the programs were carried out as part of the women's ministry's end of quarter initiatives to reach out to the surrounding communities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Captain Flora said women in the district have been actively involved in the quarterly evangelism programs as they have been very effective to date.
"We started reaching out to the communities earlier this year when we hosted a crusade at Darata village in the Higaturu LLG."
"From that crusade, there is now an opening there in Darata and they have been holding youth fellowships, home league as well as Holiness meetings and so both Captain Tau and I have been actively involved there as well," Captain Flora said.
"For the open air meeting last week Friday, we had women from Aure Fellowship, Pongani Fellowship, Waru Fellowship, Edogari Fellowship as well as Darata Opening."
A total of 15 women supported by their children and men officers were in attendance for the open air meeting which was led by Lieutenant Rosamary Jabura with Captain Flora sharing from the gospel of Luke 15:1-31, basing on the theme "Come Home".
Captain Flora said that many responded to the items presented and above all the word of God.
She further added that with the second program (open air meeting) delivered successfully last week, the women are now looking forward to the program for the next quarter which will be a home league rally to be held in September.
